Tinta Port - Library Release:
This wine was selected from the
family library exclusively for PORTfolio Society members. Laid down in
our cellar in February of 1970, this wine shows the subtleties of aroma
and flavor attained with 35 years of age. The maturity and softness that
has developed makes this a unique and priceless treasure from the past.
With this extended aging, the wine will certainly need decanting, and it
is ready to drink now. Only 600 bottles available. (375 ml.)
1986 Vintage Port:
Bottled in June 1988 and re-corked in January 2005,
this is a blend of the four Portuguese varieties (40% Tinta Madeira, 37% Souzao,
12% Touriga, and 2% Tinta Cao). Seventeen years of bottle aging have matured and
softened the complex fruit of black cherry and ripe raspberry, with hints of menthol,
tobacco and tea. This is a Port that will continue aging for many years, but it is
ready to enjoy now. There are only 600 bottles available of this special selection
from our library at this time. (750ml)
Adagio Port Blanc:
Just three barrels were bottled of this blend
of the Palomino and Malvasia grapes. This limited third bottling exhibits an
aromatic palette including ripe apricot, honey, orange blossom and peach.
Additional age has added dimensions of complexity in the mouth with rich
layers of character surrounding flavors of roasted nuts. A perfect wine served
as either an aperitif or dessert, with a balanced sweetness up front, and a
resonant, dry finish. Drink now. (375ml)
