2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Lodi:We chose to source our Cabernet fruit from Lodi because of the austere soil found there. It produces Cabernet with the right balance of tannins and fruit. The Ficklin Cabernet is an extremely heavy, full bodied red wine with tannins light enough to create the ultimate smooth mouthfeel. It's a dark, ruby-red wine with aromas of black cherry, violets, and a wisp of chocolate in the finish. The weight of this wine allows it to stand up to the heartiest of wild game dishes, yet the softness of the tannins make it pair well with strong garlic-spice, and tomato acids.
