1986 Vintage Port

| First released in August of 1993, this 1986 Vintage Port is only the seventh special bottling released by Ficklin Vineyards in its 50-plus year history. Selected lots of the traditional Portuguese grape varietals, Tinta Madeira (40%), Souzao (37%), Touriga (12%), and Tinta Cao (2%), were blended and set aside to mature in the cellar. Bottled in June of 1988, it was hand bottled with an extra-long two inch cork. Of the 1,100 cases that were bottled, 700 have been released. The remaining 400 cases will be stored in the winery's cellar for a limited, partial release in 2006. |  |
